DAVID KNIGHTChairman and Director of Innovation
David was a PwC Consulting Partner for 18 years, where he held senior global management roles and led a wide range of successful transformation programs for Fortune500 businesses.
With the team at the Centre for the Digital Economy (CoDE) at Surrey University, David led a series of Digital Leadership sessions for FTSE Executives through 2016 and 2017. This program ignited David’s passion for value creation using digital which inspired the creation of DEfactoED.
TIM FIELDDirector of Clients and Markets
Tim was an EY Partner and held Senior Executive roles at Anglo American plc. At Anglo, he successfully led a global cost reduction program driving $500m out of the corporations cost base.
Tim is a converted ‘digital champion’, understanding it’s potential but aware of the practical challenges in making digital ‘real’ in a corporate environment. Tim leads DEfactoED’s work with senior Clients to deliver the benefits of our Online Education services.
DAVID MITCHELLDirector of Finance and Enabling Technologies
David has over 25 years commercial experience that has involved senior roles in business and consulting. He has worked at all levels from the C-suite to the coalface, including as a facilitator and coach.
David’s focus is around the application of technology to drive better ways of working and creating value, and on helping clients build the skills they require in support of this.
DR MARK SENESCHALLDirector of Content and Curation
Mark has over 30 years practical business experience, most of which was at BP, where he held senior business and transformation roles. He has also worked as a consultant delivering complex transformations in a diverse assortment of organizations and geographies.
Mark’s principal interest is on the practical steps required to effect multi-faceted change in ‘messy’ situations. He is the author of ‘The Anatomy of IT Projects: Why they‘re hard and why they fail’.
RAGHU RAGHUNATHANRegional Representative for Asia and the Middle East
Raghu was with PwC for over 20 years, becoming a Consulting Partner and an accomplished Trainer and Facilitator. He's now focused on developing Digital strategies and implementing new Digital technologies for larger scale multinational corporations.
Raghu has worked extensively across Asia and the Middle East and is well versed with the business challenges of many major corporations in the Regions; he is a particularly strong advocate of promoting capabilities to empower businesses to benefit from the new digital technologies.
LARA FIELDCreative Director
Lara started her career as a professional ballet dancer before discovering a passion for computer based graphic design. Her design career spans 20 years working in small agencies, large corporates and managing the EY South Africa in-house design studio.
Lara is DEfactoED’s brand custodian, resident videographer and editor. She provides our creative spark, to ensure our content achieves maximum visual impact and learner benefit.

Keith is the Chairman of our Advisory Panel.
He was a PwC Partner then moved to Hong Kong to a senior executive role with the Jardine Matheson Executive Committee. Keith rejoined PwC and for over 10 years, led the firm’s Asia Pacific Consulting Practice from Singapore.
Since 2014 Keith has supported the Digital Leadership briefing program at CoDE at Surrey University. In his role on our Advisory Panel he is responsible for engaging and overseeing the contribution of external advisors to develop and deliver our Digital Education programs. He provides independent quality assurance for our Client services.
PROFESSOR ALAN BROWN
Alan is Professor in Digital Economy at Exeter Business School.
Alan is a recognized authority on the Digital Economy, with over 25 years of experience in commercial software development companies leading innovation in software product delivery. His focus is on innovation in a number of practical research areas with regard to global enterprise software delivery, agile software supply chains, and the investigation of ‘open commercial’ software delivery models.
Alan brings leading edge thinking to our Educational content and a global network of digital subject matter experts from leading academic institutions.
Neal is a serial entrepreneur in the technology services sector.
Having founded his first services company in 1996, not long after the commercial launch of the World Wide Web, he has spent most of his career at the point at which the cutting edge of technology becomes useful to business.
Most recently, he founded The Panoply, a new company with the goal of becoming a leading technology led corporate innovation consultancy. The company was created in December 2016 and is currently closing a number of acquisitions.
He intends to float the group on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange in 2018.
James is an entrepreneur specialising in digital transformation and cloud technology.
James is CFO of NotBinary, a digital technology services business, and delivers executive and MBA education for the University of Surrey. He is also working on the Parliamentary Enquiry into Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Ethics and is a founding member of the Panoply.
He has founded and run a number of successful technology service businesses which have played a key role in the development of the UK’s digital economy. James works with corporate and institutional Boards to design and deliver executive education courses, blending his innovative knowledge and thinking with practical experience of numerous enterprise wide digital transformation initiatives. He has advised, coached, and trained leadership teams across publishing, transport, retail and public sectors.
Prior to James’ entrepreneurial career he played a leading role in many of the most significant data and technology initiatives in UK Government. He worked in the Cabinet Office team that designed the G Cloud procurement framework, the foundations of the Digital Services Marketplace and one of the first Government Cloud Strategy’s in the world.
